Back in 1997 I saw this young lady walking on the Surry Community College campus. She bounced when she walked and so did my heart when I saw her. One day I ran into her at the Speedy Chef in Elkin. While I ordered my fish sandwich with mayo and no tartar sauce she slipped me her phone number. The next day I called her to ask me if she’d ride with me to get a pair of shoes. I told her on the way home that if she went out with me again, she’d fall in love with me. She took the bait.
